Fernflight looked around, Thornclan was growing bigger and bigger. She wondered how many cats she would have to take care of when she became leader. She asked a random cat if they wanted to go hunting with her.
Thistleheart was taking a nap near the warriors den. He hoped he didn't have to go on a patrol today.

OOC; Just a reminder to try to use good, descriptive writing with full sentences to enrich your roleplaying. And could you please refrain from writing things like "she asked a random cat to go hunting with her"? This will probably chase away any prospective roleplayers, as no one likes to roleplay their cat according to what another roleplayer is pretty much dictating them to do. WNT prefers members to write something like "Fernlight looked around the camp, hoping for someone to hunt with." Once another member roleplays his or her cat in response, then you can have Fernlight request a hunt. So I'll roleplay Spiderstar accordingly.
IC;
Spiderstar looked over the clearing and spotted Fernlight, her deputy. She frowned to herself. One of these days I'll have to remind myself why I ever chose her to be my deputy. She huffed to herself and stood up. The sun was beating down hard on ThornClan's camp, and at that moment she truly wished there were trees in the territory. She trotted across the clearing, the dry, caked dirt beneath her paws overwhelmingly hot. She sat down next to Fernlight. "Hello, deputy," she murmured. "I do believe that SunClan had the right idea, begging for water... We need more water sources than the little pool beneath the Willow Tree," she muttered bitterly. "Without water, our Clan will dry up before we can say 'dead.' Now that SunClan's leader is gone, Adderfang will become Adderstar. We'll just have to see if Adderfang will maintain SunClan's request for borrowed water or leave DappleClan to drown in it's own resources. Let's just hope that's how it'll turn out... ThornClan deserves a fair chance, and if SunClan won't take it, we will." Spiderstar lifted her head high, thee imaginary drumroll that had played in her head on it's last note.

Fernflight nodded "Water is one of the two most important needs for our clan, but why would Adderfang, i mean Adderstar now, reject water? Sunclan is pretty much a green desert at this point, unfortunately for us, we are close behind." She licked her paw before adding in, "If Dovestar rejects giving us water then she can kick clan life to the edge of their waterfall!" She would never let this happen, she couldn't because of her loyal nature.

Foxblaze silently padded towards Spiderstar and Fernlight, his hard paw pads used to the scorching hot dirt, though he had to admit that it didn’t made him feel any more comfortable with it, and it also reminded him of the lack of water that has been assaulting ThornClan lately “Greetings” The deep voice of the warrior was calm as always, though it held a clear respectful tone “I must agree with you, Spiderstar, though I must say I’m still surprised. I never would had expected SunClan of all clans to actually beg for anything, and even less make their weakness public at a gathering” He then turned to the deputy, raising an eyebrow with her words.
“I’m just as willing as you to do anything in my paws to protect the clan, but we shouldn’t just act driven by mindless impulses, Fernlight. ThornClan still stands strong, but we can’t just risk a war with another clan right now, especially DappleClan. Regardless of how much I hate to admit it, they have the upper paw in this situation, as our numbers are still lower than theirs, and while we are struggling to get our main resources lately they are well fed and have plenty of water” The unusually big tom sat calmly next to his two clanmates, curling his tail over his paws. If they wanted some water from DappleClan they would need to try to ask for it in a pacific way, and if that wasn’t possible they would need to make a really good plan to take the resources they needed, as they couldn’t just risk getting attacked by the currently strongest clan of the forest.

OOC: Silver, please use black letters only for roleplaying! I know, I'm kind of used to colored quotes too, but I think it adds a little uniform to our site. IC: Spiderstar cocked her head to one side, genuinely interested in what Foxblaze had to say. This conversation had turned quite political, but ThornClan was pretty much drained of any other point of talk. She nodded thoughtfully, and wondered why she had never considered Foxblaze as a deputy - he was straightforward and cool but didn't bring too fine a point on any opinions controversial to another. She gave her tail an approving flick and looked at Fernlight, who was also a brave, outspoken soul. She was a good speaker, and... Spiderstar had nothing to say that her choice of deputy was wrong, but consideration was, she realized, a very essential skill that offers points of view that could help out with almost every decision. She decided to use it more often. For now, though, Fernlight was the best opportunity for ThornClan. She shook herself slightly to rid herself of thoughts and caught Foxblaze's last few sentences. A small, unnoticeable smile tugged at the corners of her lips, and, shifting to a better position, she said, "Fernlight, I do have to agree with Foxblaze. ThornClan is weak, and none of our choices should be made emotionally. Our main resource that is within our reach is food - water is in the paws of another Clan, and to get it we need to take our best skills to heart to try to get it. ThornClan is too weak to fight a Clan like Dovestar's, so calm, persuasive words is what we need to gain back one of our best resources. Every cat in ThornClan is required to help their Clan to the best of their abilities - we will return to our former Clan, but we need everyone to use their brains, not their minds, to figure out how to take on DappleClan." A sense of power that only came to her in times like these was suddenly overwhelming her - it combined her love for her Clan with a fierce sense of motherly protection. Together, they create an unbeatable soul inside of her - with her clan at her side, Spiderstar knew that they would be, forever, ThornClan.
