THRUSHJAW "True independence and freedom can only exist in doing what's right." -Brigham Young age • 35 moonsgender • Male the appearance overall appearance • Average-sized, ginger-and-white tabby tom. Green-yellow eyes. in-depth build • Thrushjaw is an average-sized, short-furred, pale ginger-and-white tom with thoughtful yellow-green eyes. His face has lost its roundness, and has become more chiseled. He has quite the lean, lithe build instead of a bulky, muscular one, and his face has lost the sardonic grin; instead, it has been replaced with a more serious, no-nonsense look. in-depth color • Thrushjaw has a white base with a pale ginger (paler than in picture) tabby shell over on the top of his body and stretching over his face like a half-mask. His tail is completely ginger with tabby rings. the preferences likes -Protecting his Clan -Competing -Spending time with Clanmates/feeling like he belongs /being "normal" -Appreciation /being noticed -Cats who work efficiently -Cats who are considerate -Cats who are fast-paced -Winning dislikes -Difficult cats -Cats who do stupid things (when they know they're stupid) -Impulsive cats -Immature cats -Lazy cats -Sassy cats -Cats who depend on other things too much -Losing/failing aspirations/goals -To become leader (so he can prove to himself and others that he's a loyal warrior) -Be a loyal warrior -Be independent while being loyal fears/phobias -Failing/losing -Heights the personality positive traits (+) -Brilliant -Loyal -Patriotic -Considerate -Observant -Merciful -Mature -Organized -Confident -Dutiful -Creative negative traits (-) -Judgmental -Harsh -Short-tempered -Easily jealous -Anxious -Abrupt -Bossy -Prim -Aggressive -Stubborn -Brazen neutral traits ( -Solemn -Stoic -Reserved -Practical -Matter-of-fact -Waspish -Neat -Defensive -Careful -Competitive -Independent in-depth personality • Thrushjaw is extremely smart, and learns very quickly. He is willing to think out-of-the-box and try new ideas; whatever to help his Clan. This brings us to his second positive trait: loyalty. You can be assured that SunClan will have his loyalty 'till the end. Thrushjaw takes pride in serving his Clan everyday, and is a hugely patriotic warrior. He won't hear a bad word about SunClan, and if he does, it's usually met with his teeth and claws. However, Thrushjaw tries to be considerate for others, and tries to think in others' shoes; what would they feel if he did something that they didn't like? Is a fight really going to be necessary? How could he get cats to like him? He has become more and more observant as he grows older, noticing things in other's words and in the everyday surroundings. He has grown to be a lot more mature and serious, and has started to control his angry outbursts and extremely competitive spirit. He is also very organized and always tries to think of a plan for the next day, so things have less of a chance of plunging into chaos. Over the moons, Thrushjaw has also developed a more confident personality. However, Thrushjaw has a tendency to taking things the wrong way, especially when a small comment was meant to be harmless. He still can be very judgmental of others, and disapproves of those who break the warrior code. He can be extremely curt and abrupt when he wants to, especially to intimidate others. He has a harsh way of talking to cats he doesn't like (it's very obvious when he doesn't like someone), and still has quite the short temper, though he tries to hide it. Thrushjaw can also become easily jealous of others, and this usually leads him to be really rude. He had developed a more bossy attitude towards others, which also leads to him being prim; he can seem extremely formal and stuck-up, and instantly disapproves of others who are rude ( sometimes he is, too). He can turn aggressive quite easily, especially when someone taunts him or his Clan/Clanmates. Thrushjaw doesn't really like to show his true emotions; he already is aware of his short fuse, and doesn't prefer to explode, because he doesn't want to ruin his image. He usually responds with an unhelpful message, to show that he "doesn't really care." However, when he does want to convey what he's feeling, he can be extremely brazen and honest, and this tends to scare younger cats off. Although Thrushjaw can feel pity, he has a hard time showing it, as he's not exactly the cat who provides the best comfort. He is very practical in his ways; he only does things if they benefit, and sometimes, he will cast everything else aside just to do something he feels is "important." Thrushjaw is also very matter-of-fact and down-to-earth; he doesn't try to dance around subjects, and gets right to the point. He can be easily annoyed, especially by cats he doesn't like already. However, he doesn't try to take it out on them, so it doesn't show often. He is also quite neat, and doesn't like to seem messy, as he believes it will be bad for his image. Thrushjaw has also become more defensive and careful about everything, as experiences in life has taught him to stay on his paws at all times. As he has grown older, Thrushjaw has come to think that no one should be too dependent on anyone else (or anything else). He encourages cats to be loyal to what they think they should be loyal to, and spends a lot of time trying to convince unsure cats to be loyal to him and SunClan. However, he refuses to succumb to anything, and often is stubborn and won't listen to others' words if he thinks they're trying to persuade him to go the wrong way, which can be frustrating. He follows no one but himself. the skills positive skill list (three min.) - Excellent fighter - Endurance - Stealthy/good hunter negative skill list (three min.) - Climbing - Swimming - Jumping average skill list (three min.) - Running - Brute strength - Navigation skills • Thrushjaw, being relatively skinny, isn't the strongest cat, so any type of fighting that involves butting heads he will typically lose. He has a natural talent for running, but since he doesn't practice running that often it has devolved into a more average skill of his. However, due to his rivalry with his peer Lionxxx (name not disclosed so there's no chance of confusion), he trained hard to become a better fighter and his hard work has paid off, making him an above-average fighter. He also has very good endurance, and can fight for a long time. In addition, he is a silent and deadly warrior, being able to sneak up on enemies and prey. However, his navigation can be questionable sometimes, as he is a good visual learner that can only memorize things as pictures-- any change in scenery will result in confusion. As he's afraid of heights, he can't climb. Thrushjaw doesn't like to go near water if he can help it, so he isn't a good swimmer. Lastly, he never practices jumping (since he never climbs), and he struggles with leaping over gorges. the history family • N/A birthplace of cat • ShadeClan nursery siblings • Frostberry (older brother), Goldenfox (older brother), Rosetail (older sister) other important people • Lionfrost (rival) overall history • CHILDHOOD Thrushkit was born in a later litter, where he was the only surviving kit. His parents cherished their youngest son, and watched him day after day, taking care of him and showering little Thrushkit with attention. Of course, this annoyed his two older brothers, Cat1 and Cat2. They were about 10 moons older than him, and didn't appreciate their runty brother. However, Rosepaw, their littermate and Thrushkit's only sister, adored Thrushkit. They became fast friends, as Rosepaw didn't have many acquaintances of her own age. Rosepaw, being an apprentice, had duties to do and couldn't stay for long when she visited him in the nursery. As she became more and more busy, Thrushkit saw less and less of her. Then, on the day Frostpaw and Goldenpaw received their warrior names, Thrushkit became a 'paw in the same ceremony, apprenticed to Rubbleclaw, who was a stern friendly mentor. However, Rosepaw ran away the week before the ceremony, and no one could find her at all. Frostxxx and Goldenxxx, both whom disliked their sister from the start, simply dismissed this as one of Rosepaw's "adventures," and reassured that she would return soon. Thrushpaw was devastated, Frostxxx and Goldenxxx did not step forward to help. He became somewhat depressed, as Rosepaw had been the closest to a best friend, and lagged in his training. His denmates stopped talking to him, since he would never respond. He missed what was supposed to be his first Gathering (the first Gathering that had happened since he became an apprentice), his brothers went, and brought back the news: Rosepaw, now Rosexxx, had joined SunClan. Furious, they had disowned their blood sister for not being loyal enough to ShadeClan. Filled with hope, Thrushpaw decided to sneak out one night to try to convince Rosetail to come back. However, he had managed to walk the hour-long trip to the border, and was just about to cross it when the moonlight patrol came forth with Frostxxx and Goldenxxx at the head. Thinking that he also wanted to leave, they disowned him as well. Thrushpaw slowly became bitter and frustrated at this turn of events in his life, and slipped away from the social circle and into the shadows. WARRIORHOOD Thrushpaw passed his assessment with ease, and was named Thrushjaw not long after. However, he continued to remain a coldhearted, reserved, judgmental cat who had a hard outer shell. His brothers' way of thinking slowly sank into his brain, and he began to think like them: whoever wasn't loyal enough to ShadeClan, meaning that they distracted themselves from their duties by getting mates, straying across the border, or doing whatever else was not worthy of being part of the Greatest Clan Ever. He began to judge others harshly, and worked harder than ever to prove his own loyalty, and hopefully gain his brotherhood back with Frostxxx and Goldenxxx. Later in his life, Goldenxxx was slain by a fox, leaving Frostxxx depressed. For some unknown reason, Frostxxx became even more hostile to him (perhaps because both of them were on the patrol that witnessed Goldenxx's death), and the two toms officially stopped talking. Thrushjaw broke off his connections with Rosexxx, despite her protests at every Gathering. Gradually, he withdrew himself from everyone. DEPUTYSHIP It came to an extreme surprise when Talonstar announced Thrushjaw's new position. This gave him a completely new thought: they cared. He had succeeded. He was loyal after all. It almost felt like a rebirth to the young tom; Thrushjaw nearly burst out in happiness, not from getting the position, knowing that there were cats out there who liked him being in ShadeClan, even if they didn't show it. Sure, he would have to work to get respect, it was a new start; a new chance; a new life. From there, many things changed. He met his best friend for life, and took a mate. And so begins his new life as deputy of ShadeClan. in-depth history • THE NIGHT HIS BROTHERS DISOWNED HIM Thrushjaw, then Thrushpaw, had managed to sneak out of the camp, past the guards (who just so happened to be his brothers). Eventually, he tracked down the border between ShadeClan and SunClan, and attempted to cross to reach Rosexxx. However, his brothers soon smelled his scent, and found him just about to traverse the line. Immediately, they disowned him for disloyalty and took him back to the leader, who punished Thrushpaw. Because of this, Thrushpaw eventually grew cold and bitter towards everyone, ostracizing himself from the rest of the Clan. (I honestly don't know what more to write. It's all in the rest of the history...) ooc link to purchase • First cat rp sample • Background: Toadpool, one of my characters from another site, is dying of greencough. This is his moment with his family, Willowbranch (another member's character, his mother), mokestorm (another member's character, his stepdad), and Dawnthorn (another member's character, a StarClan escort). All cats who are named are characters who do not belong to this site, and fully belong to their creators. Any cats on this site that share the same name are their own selves, and belong to their creators. +++ Toadpool hobbled into the clearing. He had said good-bye to his mate and unborn kits, and was prepared to say one last good-bye to the mother he loved. And, well, the other "father." Did the tom count as a father, anyway? Toadpool had a cautious respect for Smokestorm, had refused to believe that Willowbranch had seemingly abandoned Duskpounce and moved on. Was life really that fast-paced? Or was it just Willowbranch's way? Toadpool had never figured out his mother, she was so complex that he didn't really want to. On the outside, she seemed quite a simple cat: stubborn, headstrong. Strict, no-nonsense. Compassionate, motherly. And he had been wrong to think that she was simple on the inside, too. Taking Smokestorm as a second mate had confused him. What was she doing? What had she been thinking? What did she possibly see in Smokestorm? He wasn't another Duskpounce. Not to Toadpool. And he didn't bother to try to dissect Willowbranch's thoughts. It would probably make him more accepting of Smokestorm. His vision began to blur as he collapsed in the camp, somewhat disoriented, only vaguely knowing where he was. "Willowbranch?" he rasped. "S...Smokestorm?" he coughed out, forcing himself to say the other tom's name. He deserved a good-bye, too. Kind of. "Dusk...pounce?" where was his true father, anyway? It hurt him to think that he had also abandoned Willowbranch. She was the deputy, and he just left her? A powerful stab of fury came to him as the thought flashed by his mind once again. And suddenly, he was appreciative of Smokestorm. For noticing Willowbranch. She had needed someone by her side, and his father hadn't done that. And so Smokestorm had been right to step in. It was probably meant to be. If I was his kit, then maybe I would've been happier. Because he would've been there the entire time. For my whole life, from kit to now, I was trying to search for Duskpounce. I've never seen him since I was born. And that hurts, father. You hurt me. You hurt Willowbranch. You hurt my littermates. And now, I'm ready to end this hurt. He knew he was about to die. And he embraced it. I've lived my life. Perhaps, up in StarClan, I'd finally be able to see where you really are. Are you still there? The ground shook beneath him, and he saw Willowbranch crouch over him, sobbing. More paw steps thundered towards him, and Smokestorm's scent wafted over his nostrils. He felt a hot tongue lick his side, and he closed his eyes again. It felt warm compared to the cold, and he sighed, feeling, all of a sudden, enlightened. First, he turned to Willowbranch. "You were... a great mother. Everything... I could hope for in one, and you raised me to the warrior I am today. I can't... be prouder... to be... your son." He coughed and spluttered for a moment, his body shaking with waves of pain that racked his now-frail body. "I can't... see my siblings," he whispered, " give them my good-bye. I loved them all." Finally, he turned to Smokestorm. With his last ounces of energy, he took a deep breath and spoke, hoping that he wouldn't have to pause so much. "I owe you an apology. In the beginning, I never accepted you as mother's second mate. You were another cat. I still hoped Duskpounce would come back. he probably won't, and I can only accept that. You were the one I neglected. You were the father I never had. Thank you so much... for.... taking care of Willowbranch, and my littermates. And the rest of LeafClan. Good-bye, father." His eyes clouded, and he smiled weakly. "Look, I can see them," he said. "The StarClan cats have come for me." (The StarClan cat who'd materialized dipped her head. "Come along Toadpool, we must go now.") Toadpool's eyes fluttered momentarily, his pupils flickering from Willowbranch, to his brothers, and then to Smokestorm. For a moment, his life flashed before him in his mind: his birth, in the midst of a full moon; his kithood, playing with his littermates in the nursery; his apprenticeship, play-fighting with his friends in the territory, among the trees; and finally, his warriorhood, receiving his ame (he even recalled the slightly mortified feeling he'd gotten when his own mother gave him his first and final name), meeting Smokestorm, Willowbranch's new mate, and thinking of Duskpounce, and meeting his mate and new kits... it had been an incredible journey. Toadpool exhaled almost in relief; it had been hard along the way. Perhaps, he thought again, I will be able to see Duskpounce from up in the stars. Smokestorm's my father now. "Good-bye son. Go swiftly to StarClan and find peace," said Smokestorm. The blue-coated tom's eyes closed for a last time, and with a final breath, Toadpool laid still. A apparition shimmered before them, and a she-cat materialized from the air. "Hello, Toadpool. My name is Dawnthorn, and I've come to escort you to StarClan." she stepped forward and pressed her nose to Toadpool's ear. Instantly, Toadpool's eyes opened, and his spirit stood up, walking towards Dawnthorn, leaving his corpse behind. "I didn't get to watch my daughter grow up, a parent's love is one of the best gifts you can give to them. He will watch over you in StarClan. Come Toadpool, we must go now." She began to pad away. Toadpool smiled, his parting words already said. His friendly, peaceful gaze swept over the cats who had stood over his body, and he attempted to press his muzzle against each of theirs in a last silent farewell. Finally, he looked past Smokestorm's shoulder and at a small ginger apprentice peering out from behind a bush, his body half-hidden by it. Smiling, he dipped his head without speaking. Then, he turned away and padded out of LeafClan camp, hurrying along in Dawnthorn's wake. comments • Sunny , I hope it's okay if I apply for ShadeClan deputy. |
