adderfang SunClan - Deputy The land surrounding the travelling tomcat was filled with life, seemingly mocking his situation. All around him he could hear the songs of locusts, the buzz of other insects, and the croaks of frogs. Any other night he would be absorbing the energy that these other creatures were giving him, but tonight he was experiencing mixed feelings and was only bothered by the sounds. On one hand he was sad about Ashstar's death - she had been his leader, after all. On the other hand, this was what Adderfang had been chosen for and he knew he was ready for the job.
He had been thinking of how his clanmates found Ashstar's body and he felt extremely uneasy at the thought. What had happened to her? He felt somewhat uncomfortable going to receive his nine lives and become the new leader when the cause of her death was still under question, but he knew it was his duty so he pressed on. Ashstar was dead and there was nothing he nor anyone else could do about it, so he told himself it wasn't worth the worry right now; he could deal with it after he shared tongues with StarClan. He shuddered slightly at his lack of empathy but at the same time couldn't help feeling that way. This situation is exactly what Adderfang's cold personality and lack of emotions was perfect for - he would not be distracted by grief.
He padded alongside a StarClan cat who was guiding him to the Mooncave and he didn't talk much per usual. He wondered if the cat could tell what he was thinking and he felt slightly nervous at the thought of it. Of course he was intimidated by the responsibility of leadership, but he was ready. Especially after the gathering, where Dovestar agreed to allow SunClan to use DappleClan's resources, he felt like he could pull his clan together and get them back up on their paws - as soon as they figured out what happened to Ashstar. He raised his head and walked more confidently with this thought, imagining Ashstar looking down on him from StarClan, and saw the Mooncave only about a dozen fox lengths away.Sunny , Winter Sunflower

Ashstar ♚ "Though I may be gone, I really am not. Though I may be gone, I stand behind you. Though I may be gone, I watch you with pride. Though I may be gone... You are alive."
The starry landscape stretched for miles. A familiar image of the Gather Island came to view. Once Adderfang drifted into a sleep, he would find himself here. Misty trees danced gracefully around in a great circle filled with cats from StarClan. They all looked particularly excited but hints of fear could be seen gleaming in their eyes. They mainly worried about Adderfang. They feared the difficulties which SunClan's deputy, soon to turn leader would face. Ashstar's death had been very unexpected. It seemed to have marked an ominous coming.
In the front of the crowd was Ashstar. She looked serious as ever. Her leaf green eyes were fixed upon Adderfang, waiting for him to approach her. She would be the first to give him a life.

adderfang SunClan - Deputy Approaching the Mooncave, Adderfang suddenly felt heavy. His usual lightness on his feet left him as he entered the mouth of the cave, his bold blue eyes squinted as he focused on the darkness. He followed the lead of the StarClan cat and nestled himself down, knowing that he had to sleep to speak to StarClan. The deputy shifted around as he tried to get comfortable, finding it hard to want to rest. He closed his eyes and waited, knowing that if he relaxed he would fall asleep more quickly.
Soon his breathing became more rhythmic and his body rose and fell with deep breaths - he was asleep. He was suddenly standing on Gathering Island, with a seemingly endless starry landscape fading in the background. The heaviness that fell on him in the cave was gone, and he felt as though he were weightless on the island. It was a strange feeling to be back to this place so soon and for a completely different reason. He stood stiffly despite how light and free he felt, waving his head side to side to peer around him. He saw what seemed to be a group of cats approaching and waited for them to come closer, his tail flicking behind him in anticipation. He soon realized that they had ceased their approach and appeared to be waiting for him to come to them.
Adderfang raised his head as he walked towards the gathered cats, realizing that they were all in StarClan. His eyes widened and his maw hung slightly open, his awe apparent. When he realized how starstruck he looked he snapped his jaw closed, his cheeks tightening. He finally reached the cats and instantly recognized Ashstar, his heart pounding in reaction. She looked like her usual self, not like the mangled body that was found not too long ago in the rain. "Ashstar" he mewed with a slight crack in his voice, dipping his head in respect. He pulled his head back up to its tall height and his paws twitched underneath him, unsure of what he was about to go through. The tomcat blinked several times as if to make sure she was what he was really seeing, but he otherwise remained collected, looking across at all of the different faces.Sunny , Winter Sunflower

Ashstar ♚ "Ghosts of the past, they follow you everywhere. Accept these ghosts and they disappear."
Ashstar's ears twitched slightly when she spotted her old deputy approach her. She allowed the slightest ghost of a smile to appear on her face. Sharp green eyes met Adderfang's with the love and care of an older sister. Almost impatiently, her tail flicked back and forth. From her straight sitting position, she stood up. Without making a noise under her paws, she closed the distance between former leader and former deputy and touched her nose with him briefly.
"Brace yourself for your lives, Adderfang. These lives which we, StarClan give you, will show you the pain you will face in time to come. Be brave," She warned him.
"With this life, I give you the love of an older sister. SunClan needs a leader who will care for his clanmates. One who has a gentle spirit yet a fierce one in the face of adversaries. Love your clanmates and always put them above everything else." Ashstar spoke softly.
Perhaps for the first time ever, Ashstar's voice cracked and the stern image which she had bore for so long seem to be chipping away. Instead of that strong leader which she had always been seen as, the sister in her was dominant. She dipped her head slightly and moved back.
With her life, Adderfang would feel strong worry for his clanmates. Careful consideration of their welfare. The fear of upsetting them. And the powerful sense of an older brother or sister guarding his/her siblings.

adderfang SunClan - Deputy At Ashstar's warning, Adderfang straightened his body. He remained standing in front of his former leader, his eyes watching her carefully. His short pelt revealed his tensed muscles and he listened to her tell him he needed to be brave for this. He nodded his head briefly, then she began speaking again.
Almost immediately after the she-cat finished her words, Adderfang felt an ache in his chest. At first his heart beat felt like it would explode his narrow chest and he had feelings of extreme joy, which were strange to him. Quickly, it felt like his rib cage was tightening and his heart was heavy as rocks, and he became confused. What kind of feelings are these? he asked himself as he buckled slightly under the strange pain. He realized that she had mentioned so many emotions that he never experienced, and this pain must be him feeling them for the first time. The ache remained, and he became flushed with a fierce anger for no apparent reason. These were the feelings of love, loss of love, and protectiveness - feelings that would take him some time to adjust to.
The tightening finally ceased and Adderfang slowly stood back up to his full height, panting slightly. He watched as Ashstar moved away from the front and he moved his eyes across the crowd of cats, wondering who would come up next. His body felt comfortable now, and he noticed how different Ashstar sounded. She was almost like an older sister in this moment, and Adderfang realized what emotion she wanted him to have towards the clan. Right now he felt warm and protected by Ashstar even as she moved away, and he knew he wanted his clan to feel that same way with him as leader. Sunny , Winter Sunflower

Rowanshine stepped forward as Ashstar finished. He dipped his head at Adderfang, and said, "Adderfang. With this life I give you appreciation. Use it well to recognize all other cats' kindnesses toward you. Each cat has something to offer, and each should be noticed." Rowanshine reached forward and touched Adderfang's head with his nose.
____
Adderfang will feel a strong feel of love - his heart will swell and the gratitude will overwhelm him. This life gives him the open-mindedness of a leader that appreciates each and every one of his Clanmates as well as every bit of advice that any cat gives him.

adderfang SunClan - Deputy Adderfang accepted the touch of Rowanshine, closing his eyes at the feeling. When he opened them, he was facing the members of his clan. They all began to speak at once and he couldn't make out what each of them was trying to say, but instead of snapping at them and becoming frustrated he waited patiently. He felt a warmth cover his body, and he could tell that he was enjoying this moment. Although overwhelmed with all of the talking, he wanted to listen to each of them and hear what they had to say.
He closed his eyes and smiled briefly, opening them to reveal the StarClan cats again. His smile instantly sharpened back into its typical straight line and he nodded at Rowanshine. He should have guessed that he would get some lives that dealt with love and kindness, since he lacked those qualities on his own. He let out a brief chuckle at the thought, looking at his paws. When he collected himself he looked forward again, waiting for another cat to approach. Sunny , Winter Sunflower

| B ehind Rowanshine, a small, grey tom sat. His vivid, jade eyes were fixed upon the new leader with caution. When Rowanshine returned, he decided he would approach Adderfang and give him a life. He stepped up to Adderfang and touched his nose onto Adderdang's muzzle.
"My name is of none importance to you. However, my gift will be. I give you, Adderfang, your third life. With my life I give you trust. Leader or not, you're still cat. Rely on your clanmates to give you guidance," he murmured.
Almost unheard, the gray tom whispered something else underneath his breath. Only Adderstar would have been able to hear his words. He warned the tom not to make the same mistakes as he had.
"And goodluck; you're going to need it," he forewarned ominously.
With a swish of his tail, the seasoned StarClan cat faded back into the crowd of cats.
With Graystar's life, Adderfang would actually have a vision. He would find himself in an endless sea of water. The waves would be rolling him around and they would continue to push him under water, despite his struggle. After finding himself drowning and falling deeper into the blue depths, he would feel a light paw touch his. Soon, he would find himself surrounded by all his clanmates as they swam his tired body to shore. They will say to him, "We will always be there to help you up; leader or not!"

adderfang SunClan - Deputy Watching the gray tom approach him with his equally dazzling eyes, Adderfang lowered his head to receive the touch he offered. After Graystar stopped his talking, Adderfang immediately felt heavy and was having a hard time breathing. Suddenly, he was being pushed and shoved by huge waves of water and he couldn't keep his head above to breathe. He began to panic, flailing his long skinny limbs in an attempt to avoid drowning. He drifted deeper and his body became limp, unable to keep up with the energy that swimming was requiring.
Just as he was drifting from consciousness, his body was pulled upwards by the touch of many paws. His head was leaned back limply and had to be supported to let him breathe. Finally he felt his body touch land again, and he coughed to rid his lungs of water. He dramatically opened his eyes, looking around at those who saved him. He was surrounded by his clan mates again, all of their round eyes concerned and looking down on him. "We will always be there to help you up; leader or not!" they spoke in unison, and suddenly Adderfang felt normal again. He stood and all signs of water disappeared and he was once again facing the StarClan cats. He nodded to Graystar with a slight smile, although his ominous words troubled the tom. He watched the tom cat disappear and breathed slightly heavier, still cautious that his breath may be limited. Sunny , Winter Sunflower

Minnowleap nodded at Graystar and padded over to Adderfang. She purred, and touched her tail tip gently on his shoulder. "Adderfang, with this life I give you bravery. Use it well to overcome your largest fears with a sense of trust and faith. Remember that bravery does not come without fear, but the power to rise above it." Minnowleap touched her muzzle to Adderfang's forehead, and submerged herself in shadows. _ Adderfang will feel a strong sense of bravery that will overcome his fear. Feel free to personalize it

adderfang SunClan - Deputy The tall tomcat watched Minnowleap approach and his tail flicked in anticipation of her touch. Her purr lightened the mood, but her words dimmed it again. He accepted her touch but stood stiffly, his fears clouding his mind. His fear of rejection was one of the reasons he stayed so distant with his emotions, and he imagined himself opening up to someone and them using it against him. He winced at the pain he felt in his chest, but realized that if he did not open up no one could ever help with his troubles. He imagined himself in battle against a much larger cat and he wanted badly to use his speed to run. He was crouched with his ears pinned against his head, snarling, but he realized that if he used his strengths rather than focusing on his weaknesses he could prevail. He stood tall once again, ready to face the battle. His last fear was the worst of his - that other clans would always view SunClan as weak and they would fall victim to many attacks of all kinds. He vowed to himself to make his clan strong and healthy again, and assure them that they would be okay. If they had confidence in themselves, even if his biggest fear came true, they could stand a chance.
Adderfang had his head lowered, looking around him as though he had to be suspicious of everyone. Once his fears started to drift away he raised himself, shifting on his paws to get comfortable again. He nodded to Minnowleap, wishing she could have been a friend of his. Her presence calmed him, and he felt ready for his next life. Sunny , Winter Sunflower

| C reeping in the shadows, hazel eyes watched the four cats before her give Adderfang his new lives. She almost murrowed in amusement when Graystar revealed the life he was giving to Adderfang. It was slightly ironic. Graystar had a reputation to never listen to others when he was the leader of SunClan. Of course, this was many seasons ago so the former kittypet, Tigerlily, knew that Adderfang would have never heard of Graystar. She padded from behind Adderfang and meowed softly to him. "Behind you, love," she purred sweetly. Her tail swished behind her as she approached Adderfang. From his right side she past him, until she was in front of him. She curled her tail in front of her as she sat and tilted her head slightly. "So you're SunClan's next leader? Ashstar chose her deputy well," she murmured thoughtfully. She positioned her head straight and grew seriously quickly. Her kind demeanor was gone and a tense position was resumed. "I, Tigerlily, former SunClan deputy of Graystar, former leader of SunClan, will give you your fifth life. With this life, I give you confidence. Use my gift to oust your way through any problem peacefully," she proclaimed loudly.
With Tigerlily's gift, Adderfang would feel very confident. He would suddenly find it difficult to find one thing that he was scared of. Suddenly, nothing seemed as dangerous as before. |

Fawnclaw stepped forward out of the shadows. Her bright silver eyes blended in with the moonlit territory of SunClan, but her golden fur contrasted beautifully with the pretty yet bland surrounding her. She reached Adderfang and looked down at him through cool eyes. She searched his expression thoroughly. Did Ashstar make the right decision? she wondered, slightly suspicious, as always. After a few seconds of awkward silence, she decided, Yes, I suppose she has. "Hello, Adderfang. Welcome to your sixth life. With my power I give you clear judgement and certainty. Each go hand in hand. Use them well to find, in your heart, the right decision and have confidence that it is correct. As a leader you will be pressured with hard decisions to make, and each one should be made with certainty. Remember that all decisions should have a background you trust, and that your heart, deep, deep down, agrees with." She nodded, took one last odd look at Adderfang's sharp, alert face, and left. _ With this life Adderfang will feel uncertainty at first, and then confident trust that his decision was correct. Somewhere mix in the feelings of good judgement. Tagging: Tuna, Winter Sunflower

adderfang SunClan - Deputy Tigerlily surprised Adderfang since she came from behind, but he didn't let it show. He felt her walk around his right and he kept his eyes focused on her as she sat before him. She was sweet and calmed him like Minnowleap had, and he wished he had met these cats during their lives. "So you're SunClan's next leader? Ashstar chose her deputy well," she said to him, and he let a smile rest on his lips. He didn't say thank you but his eyes seemed to shine a little brighter at the compliment. She introduced herself and he perked up, dipping his head to her quickly as she listed her previous rank. "With this life, I give you confidence" she spoke to him, and he cocked his head to the side slightly. He already felt like he was a fairly confident cat, so he was slightly confused at this gift. The scenarios that had previously plagued him during his fourth life seemed far less scary when they occurred again. He felt bigger, stronger, and overall safer in each different fear test. He felt proud and excited to lead SunClan and knew he would do his best with this new gift of confidence.
Almost as quickly as she had come, Tigerlily left. Fawnclaw replaced her, with a slightly concerned look on her face. Adderfang stared into her silver eyes, trying to read them. He figured his gaze was intense and blinked a few times to ease the tension he was creating. Her look softened and he decided that whatever she had been thinking had passed.
Her words really drew him in and he found his maw slightly parted when she finished speaking. This life corresponded with the last, and he realized maybe he really needed help with his confidence. He always put up a front of strength and confidence, but maybe that's all it really was - a front. Maybe deep down he had to accept that he wasn't sure what was best for anyone. He snapped his jaws shut and tightened his cheeks, suddenly standing above his clan with an announcement to make. He felt no nerves, and the words flowed smoothly. This was unusual for Adderfang, since he always spoke so little and sometimes struggled with his words. He didn't know what he was saying, but he knew it was the right thing. He finished his speech and descended into the crowd, which erupted with noise at his conclusion, whatever it was.
Instead of being in a crowd of living SunClan cats, he was in the crowd of deceased StarClan cats. He backed himself out of it, taking a few long strides. He settled himself in front of them all again, dipping his head and closing his eyes in Fernclaw's direction. He opened them slowly and aimed his ears at the crowd, ready for the next cat to approach. Sunny , Winter Sunflower ooc: ugh sorry i feel like all of my posts are the same

Luka Who cares about my past? All one should care is about the future. WORDS 286 NOTES I feel ya X.X | Luka's body buzzed with excitement. This was it. He knew it was his time to give the new leader a life! But before he could step forward, Fawnclaw cut in front of him, much to his displeasure. He hissed softly in annoyance but refrained himself from clawing out Fawnclaw's ear. The she-cat always ticked him off, so it was no surprise that he was just barely keeping himself from voicing his anger. But his claws dug into the ground and his head lowered as a sign of his ire.
He was very glad that the she-cat had stepped back. Before anyone could go forward next, he bounced quickly to the front, slipping in between cats so he could reach Adderfang. He was so urgent, that he almost knocked Adderfang over. However, Luka had a little bit more control than that and so successfully stopped himself from doing so. Being the nervous cat he was, began to stutter with all eyes on Luka. Sure, he had been very excited to be giving a life earlier, but now, insecurities were plaguing the poor cat's mind. Taking a deep breath, Luka opened his mouth to start speaking. Ever so softly, he voice was difficult to hear and even Adderfang would have to strain to hear Luka.
"Uh, h-hi. I-I'm Luka. I-I use to be a k-kittypet, you-until I joined T-ThornClan. W-with this life, I-I give you curiosity. J-just as I ventured b-b-beyond my k-kittypet home, y-you should venture b-beyond your home as well. N-never be too i-indifferent to where you l-loose your curiosity. But always proceed with caution!" he stammered, his eyes frantically moving around.
With a squeak, the shaking StarClan cat bounded away, a light shade of red dusting his cheeks.
With Luka's life, Adderfang would suddenly find everything around him catching his attention. For a moment, everything would be fine. Then he would feel himself burning up like he had entered a fire. This severe feeling will continue until the next cat approaches Adderfang.

adderfang SunClan - Deputy Seeing the cat approaching fast, Adderfang side stepped to avoid a collision. Thankfully Luka was able to stop himself, but now Adderfang felt slightly embarrassed at making the movement away from him. He straightened up and peered at the tom, watching his mouth. Luka had begun to talk but was so hard to hear that Adderfang had to lower his head closer to him and stretch out his long neck, getting closer and focusing hard on the words Luka was emitting.
Curiosity was an interesting trait to be gifted, which is why Adderfang raised his eyebrows and smiled at the former kittypet. He never thought a leader would get a life that had to do with curiosity since it seemed so kit-like, but he felt he was going to enjoy this new quality. "Thanks, Luka" Adderfang mewed, finally speaking for the first time in a long time.
Almost immediately, Adderfang could feel the effects of this life. Suddenly he wondered why Luka was still called Luka and not a warrior name. He watched him run into the crowd and so badly wanted to chase after him to ask, but knew it wasn't appropriate. This was some of the caution Luka included. Adderfang looked around instead of at the StarClan cats like he had been doing, and started to realize that he was interacting with StarClan. Everything caught his eye now - the endless dreamy territory he was standing in that was usually barren SunClan, the sky appearing to never end above. He almost began to smile big but suddenly began to felt warm. It wasn't a comfortable warm, and it was beginning to increase in temperature. He looked around, slightly panicked, wondering if he should be curious or scared. Adderfang felt like he was burning up and standing in fire, but saw that his body wasn't becoming injured. Despite this, he began wailing at the pain he was feeling that was leaving no damage. Confused and frightened, Adderfang focused back on the StarClan cats as he knelt down at the searing pain, wanting badly to ask them to stop whatever was happening but not wanting to appear weak. He stood himself up and tried to calm himself, although his body shook in pain and fear. "What is happening?" he hissed through clenched teeth, eyes scanning over the different faces around him. Kinktail stepped forward cautiously, gave Adderfang a good sniff, and then smiled. His death did not destroy his good-naturedness - no matter how bitter he was during the end of his life. "Adderfang with this life I give you compassion. Use it well to understand your friends and adversaries - everyone has a reason, no matter how unreasonable, hm?" Kinktail touched Adderfang's shoulder gently with his tail and stepped away. ~ Adderfang will simply feel a huge rush of compassion - feel free to bring in some sort of scene.

adderfang SunClan - Deputy At the approach of Kinktail, Adderfang tensed. He watched him closely without moving his head until the tomcat gave a smile, which signaled Adderfang to relax slightly. He listened to the cat speak to him about compassion and started to roll his eyes at yet another life focused on being exactly opposite what he naturally was. However, as Kinktail finished his sentence, Adderfang instantly felt a warmness and lost all tension in his body. Instead of watching Kinktail cautiously, Adderfang cast a soft gaze over the gathered crowd of cats, a new feeling of compassion for each one that had approached him forming in his chest. He felt warm and comforted and eager to be surrounded by them all, which was actually a pretty nice feeling to have, although he would never admit it to anyone. He sat patiently with a newfound compassion for those he was with now and those he had left back at camp earlier in the evening, and he couldn't wait to go home to his clan.
Adderfang nodded to Kinktail in thanks, blinked several times, and was snapped out of his trance-like state. He remained seated but flicked his skinny tail impatiently now, still eager to return home.

Something small slithered from out of the crowd of cats. The faint outline of a kit calmly approached the soon-to-be leader. Her eyes hid a mournful quality mixed with delight. Each paw step that brought her closer to Adderfang seemed deliberate and cautious. Pale, olive green eyes rested upon Ashstar's deputy. The kit seemed to have been gauging Adderfang's worth as a leader. It seemed, unlike the rest of the cats, this particular kit did not approve of Adderfang. The kit let out an exasperated sigh. No matter, she had no control over Ashstar's choice. What the silver and white she-cat had chosen as deputy was not something that could be changed now. It was too late for redos. She would quickly have to learn to accept Ashstar's decision and move on. No matter the grudge she bore against Adderfang, she had to admit, he wouldn't do poorly for SunClan. Or at least, she hoped not. "Hello, I suppose I might as well get this over with.
Look here, I don't approve of Ashstar's choice. Toms are stupid but no matter, you are who Ashstar has designated the next leader of SunClan. Hmf. I expect you to live up to the legacy of great leaders before you. Ashstar certainly was a failure.
I give you your 9th and final life. With this life, I give you the gift of... emotions. Show some emotions, lest your clanmates think you're a non-living thing," she proclaimed loudly.Once again, the calico kit was proving that not even a sacred ceremony such as the gift of a life could escape her humorous twist to things. She had been present at Ashstar's ceremony as well. The words she had spoken to Ashstar had succeeded in causing laughter from the stern, speckled she-cat. MADE BY VEL OF GS AND ADOXOGRAPHY 2.0
