Sometimes choosing a Clan for your cat for the first time can be a little hard. There are four Clans, all pretty cool, and it seems as though it's supposed to be simple. That's why there's this thread. It gives simple details about each Clan, and it should most definitely help you choose a Clan for your first cat. There are more detailed descriptions of the Clans here, but I thought this would be easier to understand and you don't really have to take in every single thing at once.
ShadeClan:
This Clan is considered the most tricky and stealthy because of their night-colored pelts and of how they stalk through their pine-tree territory at night. Most Clans fear their quick-witted and clever cats. ShadeClan cats are strong and stocky. ShadeClan hunts land prey, including mice, voles, etc. They do not hunt prey that live in the sky or trees (including birds, squirrels, etc.) as they are not good jumpers and they are bad climbers. Squirrels are both, and ShadeClan hunts them while on the ground.
SunClan:
This Clan is considered the most open and soft Clan of all. They are lean and lithe with spectacular strengths in running, climbing, and jumping. SunClan cats live on a field with very tall grass. This Clan is best at the effect of surprise in battle, as they have techniques of crouching in wait on branches of their only tree and jumping down on enemies as they appear. The other Clans are not afraid of these cats as they seem to have no advantages on their open field. Though SunClan cats train day and night to climb, run, and jump, making them, in reality, one of the strongest Clans of all four.
DappleClan:
This Clan is considered the most comfortable and contented Clan because of their comforting trees and their luxurious willow. Though they are viewed with suspicion from the other Clans as DappleClan is best at swimming and fishing, making them different from other Clans. Their skills in fishing are unlimited, but their skills in hunting other prey aren't; DappleClan is good at fishing but almost terrible at hunting land prey other than water voles. Though DappleClan is as old as the other Clans, they are somewhat wiser than the other Clans, and hold the power of calmness and tranquility. That is DappleClan's personality, but they are extremely good fighters in battle. Though they try to stop unnecessary battles, they know that sometimes battles are needed to survive. Because of all their strengths and advantages, DappleClan are sometimes overestimated by their enemies, so in battle they get more furiously and fearfully scratched than any other Clan because they are open to cats wanting to beat them.
ThornClan:
This Clan is considered the strongest Clan. ThornClan live in thorns, and their pelts are thick to stop them from prickling their skin. As they have thick pelts, it is hard for cats battling against them to be able to sink their claws in a ThornClan cat's flesh. ThornClan is neither stocky nor lean and lithe. They are somewhat in the middle, as they have the powers of both; in battle, they are strong and dangerous, but their jumping and climbing skills are unbelievable. They are not good at running though, as they are used to being closed in by thorns and trees, stopping them from having room to run. That is their disadvantage. As they are not experienced in running, sometimes a fox, wolf, dog, or enemy cat can outrun them, and attack them as they are fleeing. Or the vise versa, meaning an enemy was fleeing from ThornClan cats and the ThornClan cats can't catch up to them. So ThornClan cats never flee, just retreat or keep battling until their opponents are beaten.
So those are the simplest details of all the Clans! I hope this thread helped you understand more about them and choose a Clan for your first cat.
Thanks,
Sun~
